DKPDKP is an acronym for Dragon Kill Points. When you participate in 25 man raids with the guild you will accrue points and use those points to get gear.
Defiance has implemented a DKP system to ensure that all of our raiders receive recognition for their efforts and, in turn, have an equal chance to receive raid drops.

LOOT PRIORITYDefiance runs an ABC loot priority system to ensure that the right members and characters receive loot first. All DKP regardless of which spec or character you play is stored on your Main character.
A Priority = Main Character, Primary/Main Spec
B Priority = Alt Character, Primary/Main Spec / Main Character, Secondary/Dual Spec(You will be required to nominate only ONE secondary if you haven't done so already).
C Priority = All Offspecs that don't fall under the other 2.
Armour PriorityFor A & B Priorities, classes will receive priority on their specific armour type.
Example: If a Resto Druid and a Resto Shaman both are interested in a Leather Spell Power item, the Druid would receive this first regardless of how much DKP the Shaman has.
Spec DefinitionPrimary Spec: The spec you want to gear up first; the one you prefer to raid as.
Secondary Spec: The second spec you want to gear up whether it be PVE or PVP
Offspec: Any other spec (not armour dependent)
You will be expected to outline your Main and Secondary specs before your first Raid with Defiance.
Changing your Main Spec & Secondary SpecTo ensure equity, players will only be able to change primary and secondary specs after attending 6 raids as your new spec, however continuing to only receive loot at it's previous priority level.
Example: Joe Bloggs plays a warrior. His Primary Spec is Protection, his secondary spec is Fury. Joe has decided he no longer wishes to tank in raids and wants to only play as fury from now on. To change his spec over formally, he needs to:
1. Notify the Guild Leader (Frackn) of his intention to change
2. Raid as Fury spec for 6 raids, however continue to only obtain Fury gear as a B priority.
3. After the 6 raids are finished, he would be entitled to receive Fury gear with A priority.
This system also applies with changing an Alt character into your Main.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
SPENDING DKPA PRIORITYStatic item prices are charged for A Priority loot. When an item drops, the Loot Master will request that all A categories whisper him your interest. If you are interested whisper the Lootmaster !bid . The person who has the highest DKP will win the item and have the item price deducted from their DKP total. In the case where there is a tie between multiple interested members, it will go to /roll.
ITEM PRICES
ilvl 219 Loot - 60 DKP
ilvl 226 Loot - 70 DKP
Tier 8 Loot - 80 DKP
ilvl 232 Loot - 90 DKP
ilvl 239 Loot - 100 DKP
B & C PRIORITY – CLOSED BIDDINGIf no A priorities require the item, the Loot Master will open this to B priority. This is where things get fun! All B priorities can bid for the item. This is a closed whisper system so you have no idea how much other B’s will bid. To bid on an item whisper the Lootmaster !bid "amount" Whoever bids the most will win the item and the Loot Master will announce how much they paid for it.
Bidding AmountsMinimum Bid = 15 DKP
Maximum Bid = A Priority Item Price (eg ilevel 219 = 60 DKP)
Bidding amounts must be in increments of 5 (eg you can bid 15 or 20 DKP, but you can’t bid 18 DKP)
If 2 or more players bid the same amount, it will go to a roll off. Whoever rolls the highest will win the item at the bid price.
If no one requires the item on B priority, the Loot Master will open bids up to C Priority. The same bidding system listed above applies.
If no one bids on the item at any level, the loot will be sharded and the shard placed in the guild bank.
There will be no whispers between raiders at any stage during the looting process until it is completed and the item rewarded. Any raiders caught breaking this rule will be subjected to HARSH PENALTIES at the discretion of the Raid Leader/Guild Officers. NO EXCEPTIONS.
HOW MUCH DKP DO I HAVE?You can find this out 2 ways:
1. Check the Current Standings page on this website
2. Send the following ingame whisper to an Officer running DKP: !dkp
LIST OF INGAME COMMANDS FOR DKP:!dkp - whispers the player their dkp
!dkp player name - whispers the player the dkp of requested player
!bid - allows a player to bid on an item
!bid amount - means the player bids a selected amount for an item
!dkp class name - the current standings for that particular class
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
DKP DECAYOn the 25th of each month all players will receive a 10% DKP decay. This is to ensure that:
- No one hoards their DKP
- Inflation is kept in check
- Gear goes to active raiders
Inactive raiders will after 10 months have their DKP reduced to 0.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)Question: What does monthly decay mean and how will it be done?Answer: Monthly decay means that every month, 10% of your DKP goes *poof* and decays! This system is in place to suppress inflation of DKP. Decay will be done on the 25th of each month, where one of the officers will manually do the decay.
Question: How can I earn DKP now?Answer: You can earn DKP by attending HEROIC raids, Ulduar ONLY ATM, and killing boss monsters.
Progression (Currently: ULDUAR25)
Stretch (Currently: All Ulduar 25 Hard modes)
Question: Why do I need to name my primary and secondary specs and main and alt toons?Answer: This is to help benefit the gearing of everyone's Alt specs in an efficient manner. By specifying which alt spec you would be using, the guild would be able to prioritize the loot distribution in a manner which maximizes the efficiency of loot.
Question: How do I get promoted? When are promotions done?Answer: Promotions and demotions are awarded when a person has reached or filled the necessary quota of raids in the given month - Members will be promoted to Raider status after raiding 7 times per month, while Core Raider status can be attained by attending 9 raids per month over 3 months.
Promotions (and demotions accordingly) will be meted out at each officer's maintenance. This officer maintenance will be carried out on the 25th of each month.
Q
uestion: If DKP has been combined for all toons does it mean that someone who has just levelled a character to 80 can get an item that I have been waiting for a long time because they have more DKP than me?Answer: NO! When combining DKP, we thought about this serious issue! Hence the implementation of the ABC loot system! A player's priority over a certain piece of loot will be determined by his Loot class for that particular item. Category A > Category B > Category C.
Player's Main Toon, Primary Spec, and Secondary spec all come into play when determining the Loot Class the player is in for that particular drop. Definitions of the Loot Classes can be found above, and here are some examples of how the ABC system works!
Question: Secondary bidding, is there any reason we’re using a silent system instead of an open auction style bid system?Answer: The officers discussed both methods of bidding however chose a silent bid option to try and keep downtime between boss fights at a minimum. The general consensus was that in an open bid, everyone would be waiting to see how much someone else was bidding and the bids would slowly escalate meaning the price would generally be higher and the entire process slower. After seeing the silent bidding in action I think it’s really added a bit of entertainment to the whole looting process especially when it goes to roll off!
Question: Can you give me some examples of how the ABC system will work?1) Yumcha is sharing his account with Frackn. Yumcha is tanking in Ulduar 25 and a shield that Oleg has been wanting for the last 2 months drops. Frackn/Yumcha has more dkp than Oleg.
Oleg would get the shield as he is a Level A (maini toon/main spec) whilst Yumcha is a Level B (alt toon/main spec).
2) Kungfumonkey and Tixi both want some cloth healing cuffs that drop. They have the same dkp and both characters are main toon/main spec.
Tixi would as the item is cloth and priority is given to the player's primary armour type.
3) Some leather Tanking gloves drop. Both Masii & Mid have feral tanking as their secondary spec, but neither wants to spend any DKP on the item.
While it’s a shame for gear to go to waste, the gloves would be DE’d and the shard placed in the guild bank because no one wanted to spend any DKP.
LAST THING I WANTED TO ADD:If the guild has to unfortunately PUG, 1-3 raid members to run a 25 man Ulduar on any given raid day, the loot will still go under DKP, however the PUG will be able to /ROLL on all items they want and win that item from the person who won it via DKP. This unfortunate circumstance would only occur if your fellow guildies become slack and stop turning up to raids without legitimate reasons.
If worse comes to worse and we PUG 4 or more members for an Ulduar 25 raid, ALL LOOT, will be on /roll, as it has been in the last 1 and a half months.
